Allison,

I wanted to pass along my deepest regret to find out about Craig's passing. I first got to know Craig from my computer support role inside the Raiders' stats crew in 1996. Even though we both were new to our positions - he was a fantastic person and quickly became our "go to guy" who brought order to the chaos within the Raider football organization. During the next several years we became friends and often discussed our interest in motorcycles (we both owned Harleys), family, Sooners and Wildcat rivalry (I attended KSU) and Raider football.

Allison - he openly and lovingly talked of you as the sweetheart in his life.
He loved you deeply.

My comments are late (we just found out about this) but I did want to pass along my condolences and my past experiences with a "one of a kind" great guy like Craig. You and your girls are in my prayers.

All my best to you,

I was fortunate to be the Chief Statistician for the Raiders during Craig's tenure. Actually, he was a member of our crew to start, but he was so good, the quickly Raiders hired him full time. Our loss and gain as Craig became our primary contact. A pleasure to work with, a quality, stand-up guy.

Was happy when he got married and nice to see him move on.

I'm sure his family misses him every day, and am very saddened to hear of his untimely passing.

Best wishes.

Allison,

I was just made aware of Craig's passing and was quite touched and saddened. I am part of the Raiders game day statistical crew and worked with Craig during his time with the Raiders. Craig worked as a liasion between the stat crew and the PR department. He also helped us out quite a few times when we were short personnel.

Although we were not close friends with Craig, those of us on the stat crew who worked with him enjoyed our game day comraderie and a lot of good laughs. We were definitely sad to see him leave the Raiders, but we knew he was doing the right thing. He was the kind of guy you knew right off was a good person and would make a great friend.

On behalf of the Raiders stat crew, we wish you, the girls, and the entire extended family our most sincere condolences, but also the courage to move on and live fruitful lives.

Sincerely,

Kim Tierney

So sorry to hear about your sudden loss. I grew up in Laurens and spent many summer days paling around with Craig. I had lost touch - then somehow got in touch with him again about 4 years ago. I remember how happy he was when I spoke to him. He was working for the Raiders at the time - but could tell from the conversation what made him the happiest by far was his wife and little girl. I don't know how or why Craig departed so early - but am comforted to know with all reassurance that he was happy.

It has been a year ago today that Craig was tragically taken away from us. I miss him more now more than ever...as does Ava and her sister Eve. Evelyn actually said her first word today.....DADA (said it about 10 times). I know it is just what Craig would have wanted...especially since he was always so ticked off that Ava said "mama" first.

To anyone reading this posting, please learn from this tragedy and truly appreciate what you do have. Life doesnt always seem the best at times but you really have no idea how good you have it.... until it is gone.

Craig.... WE LOVE YOU!!!

I send my deepest condolences to the family of Craig Long. He made a big difference in my career. I worked for Craig when I was a public relations intern for the Oakland Raiders. He was an inspiration to all that worked with him, and a class-act individual. One of the best people I have ever met in my entire life. Christina

We were so deeply sorry to hear of Craig's untimely passing. I have been in touch with Daryl via email but also wanted to extend our sympathy in writing to all of you. Bill was one of Craig's high school teachers. We both grew up in Laurens and have known the Longs for many years. We understand the services were beautiful and are sorry we were unable to attend visitation or the service in Laurens. Gloria was under the weather and didn't want to pass any germs to anyone.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. We will be sending a memorial for Ava.
Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Bill and Gloria

To the Long Family,

I was fortunate to be a part of Craig's extended family of NFL PR folks, and am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Craig was so well-liked and respected by those of us who had the pleasure to work with him.

While our AFC West rivalries make our teams competitive with one another, those of us in PR work closely together and rely upon one another to get our jobs done, and through that process great friendships are formed.

I always enjoyed working with Craig when the Broncos and Raiders would play, and catching up during longer conversations in the offseason at the league PR meetings. I've missed those opportunities in the years since he left the Raiders, and am deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic passing.

My family's prayers go out to all of you. May each day bring you greater strength and peace. I know nothing will change the loss you feel, but please know the great impact Craig had on many, many people.

God Bless,

Paul Kirk

My beloved Son-In-Law,
You were truly uncommon in so many fantastic ways. How lucky I was that you came into my life. You were like a son to me, a great friend, a great husband to Allison, and the best daddy to Ava. You will be so sadly missed by us all.
God be with us all...

Dear Allyson, the service was a wonderful tribute to your husband...so many fond memories shared by family and close friends. I left with such sorrow and at the same time a wonderful sense of knowing just what kind of a wonderful friend, father and husband Craig was to so many. I will continue to keep you and your family in prayer.
