Dear Concha....The last time I saw you was in January, 2011. We laughed about all the things we experienced growing up the very best of friends, sealing the pact with tears. We were just teenagers then. I named you best friend, "Concha"-dear shell. As seniors we were cheerleaders and we laughed about the brown and white saddle shoes, the socks rolled to our ankles, the thick white turtle neck with the big gold and purple SUHS insignia and Mel's Drive In.
Laughter was a key to our friendship; joy our hope. We were positive about life and its share of iniquities. I told you how I came to know the Lord and how He changed my life. And then we would pray. I was at my porch door when you called. I could tell we both weren't much for talking. It was our shortest and last conversation. I planned on visiting you my next trip, Concha, but that will have to wait now until I meet you in Heaven. I’ll miss our laughter. Your best friend, Mitzi

My late mother, Sandra Lim Li, was a Salinas Union High School classmate & friend of Connie, and I met her through my Mom. I saw her the past few years at the Salinas Chinese Senior Club monthly dinners. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She will be deeply missed!

So sorry to hear of your loss. My heart and prayers go out to you Ward, Allison, and Jolene.

I'll always remember the warm way in which your Mom welcomed me and others into the family, her lumpia and shrimp tacos always happily stuffing me with every visit, her generously sharing the wealth and fun of huge buckets of slot coins at the old Rio, always bringing people together with her love. She was a great woman and will be missed.
