Marilyn H. Kloes, 82 of Salinas passed away at home on Friday, July 23, 2010. She was born on July 16, 1928, in Appleton, Wisconsin. She is the daughter of the late Edward P. Alesch and the late Helen G. (Baum) Alesch.

On February 14, 1947, she married Donald R. Kloes, of Appleton, Wisconsin, in Palo Alto, California. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Marilyn was a telecommunications professional, working in middle-management at Fairchild Semiconductor, Stanford University and Lockheed Missiles and Space (now Lockheed Martin), taking early retirement in 1989. She was a member of TCA, a professional organization, serving on the Board of Directors.

Tennis, bridge, swimming and creating Bonsai plants were some of her favorite hobbies. For twelve years she served the Camp Fire Girls in various capacities for the Santa Clara County Council as a volunteer. Group Organization, Group Leader, Leadership Training, Camp Counselor Training and Day Camp Chairperson were some of these. After retirement, she started to write short stories and was published.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Art, Roman, Don and Dr. Eugene Alesch and six sisters, Verena Alesch Crowe, Bernice Alesch Schneider, Olive Alesch Theisen, Margaret Alesch Meier, Ione Alesch Fay, and Irene Alesch Hoppman.

She is survived by her children, Kandee (Thomas) Linden, Los Gatos, California, Cary (Cyndi)Kloes, San Jose, California, Carla (Stephen) Malvini, Monterey County, California, and Jacquelyn (Steve) Axtell, Seaside California. She leaves one brother, Edward A. (Marge) Alesch Richardson, Texas, many nieces, nephews, and ten grandchildren, Holly Linden D'houghe, Christopher Linden, Leif Linden, Matthew Kloes, Natalie Kloes Simoneau, Angela Malvini, Michelle Malvini, Dante Malvini, Jason Axtell, Jennifer Axtell Pena, three great-grandchildren, Corinne Linden, Anders and Maris D'houghe.

Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22 Stone St. Salinas, CA 93901.
