Kathleen "Eannie" Henry, 51, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 16, 2012. Kathleen was born in Portland, Oregon on October 19, 1960, where she spent the first nine years of her life. She moved with her family to Walnut Creek, California, and attended St. Agnes Catholic grade school and Carondelet High School. In 1986, Kathleen graduated from the University of Portland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Kathleen met her future husband, Mike Henry, at the tender age of five as their childhood homes shared a common fence. Their friendship grew for many years and culminated in marriage 26 years ago. Kathleen and Mike began their married life together in Mukilteo, WA, where they lived for 9 years and had three children, Kristen, Joey and Justin. Mike was the love of Kathleen's life and she said her greatest accomplishment was her children. The Henry family has lived in Salinas for the last 17 years.
Kathleen had a big heart and a generous spirit, always showering her family and friends with gifts and cards. She loved her home and worked passionately in her garden. She enjoyed cheering for Joey and Justin when they played roller hockey and volunteered as a religious education teacher at St. Joseph's Church in Spreckels when her children were of school age. Kathleen had a quick wit and the gift of gab and a tremendous love for her family. In turn, she was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Her philosophy on life was to Live, Love & Laugh.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Mike of Salinas, her children Kristen (Kamaron) Rianda of Carmel Valley, Joseph Henry and Justin Henry of Salinas, granddaughter Kolbie Rose Rianda, sisters Carla (Mike) Cullerton of Portland, OR, Joanne (Kevin) Castello of Salinas and Karen Gibbons of Gatlinburg, TN., in-laws Bob and Dona Henry of Manzanita, Or., brother-in law Doug (Margo) Henry of Camarillo, CA, sister-in-law Stacy (Jon) Saparito of Fife, WA, and nine nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Nancy Gibbons and her brother-in-law Rick Henry.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Spreckels.
